The underlying concept of wetware optimized for computing and the problem of bio-intelligence alignment is genuinely cool - wrap it in a clever story written concisely and humerously and I'm sold.
My intuition, as unfounded as it may be, is that biomimicry and/or biointegration will truly be the path toward more and more advanced synthetic intelligence.
